The AFS Series
After the Antarctic Treaty breaks down, a mad scramble for resources ensues including the illegal melting of ice sheet from the Gamburtsev mountains by a multi-national. People become an ordinary and permanent fixture on the previously pristine continent.
When a series of solar and extra-solar events create a technological disaster in the northern hemisphere the Antarctic people declare UDI creating the Antarctic Free State. But as the UN brings the world back from the brink the future of the AFS hangs on the actions of its small frontier-like population.
The AFS series follows some of these characters as they seek to protect the country they've made and the values it stands for.
